Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be $9.50 per hour for a 28 hour week.

Experience: is an asset.

Children’s Ages: School age (6 - 12 years)

Work Setting: Employer’s home

Specific Skills: Supervise and care for children, Help children with homework, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them, Read to children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Take children to and from school and to appointments

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check

Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle, Travel expenses paid by employer

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Rural community

Other Information: Position pays hourly wage (minimum wage, $9.50 per hour at present and $10 per hour beginning July 1) This position will require additional hours (school holidays, snow days, Summer relief)
